Obituary for Virginia Mudrow
Virginia Mudrow, 88, of Oakland, Oregon, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025. She
was born on March 13, 1937, in Arizona. After college, Virginia lived in California, where she met the love of her life, Gordon Mudrow. Together they built a life full of love and family, raising five children: Richard, Carol, Christine, Karen, and Cindy. The family lived in several areas of California before moving to Walla Walla, Washington for five years due to Gordon's work. In 1978, they settled first in Roseburg and then
in Oakland, Oregon, where they made their longtime home.
Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took great joy in
caring for her family. She had a lifelong passion for plants and flowers and could often be found
tending to her garden, growing a variety of beautiful blooms. Her many hobbies included
collecting stamps, coloring, reading, embroidery, and working on puzzles. From time to time,
she also enjoyed helping in the jewelry department at the family's Ben Franklin store.
A woman of quiet strength and unwavering faith, Virginia was a devout Christian who deeply
loved the Lord. She was known for her gentle spirit, her perseverance through challenges, and
her steadfast determination.
Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon; daughter, Carol; three
grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, and Crystal; and numerous siblings. She leaves behind a legacy of
love, faith, and family that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Sutherlin
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A grave dedication and luncheon will follow the
service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Virginia's life.
