Stephen Andrew Makinson

Steve A Makinson, age 79, went to be with the Lord May 26, 2018. He was born in Cudahy California March 23, 1939, to John P. and Ethyl Maude Makinson; he was the 8th of 9 children. Steve was married 60 years to the love of his life Carolyn. They lived in the Roseburg area and raised 3 children; Ed Makinson and wife Cathy, Karen Cordell Husband Keith, and Ken Makinson wife Cindy. They have 7 grandchildren and 15 beautiful great grandchildren.Steve made his living as a Barber and Drywall Contractor. For many years you could meet sSteve while cutting hair on the "Ok Barber Shop" which was co-owned with his brother's Paul and Joe. He worked evenings and weekends side by side with his wife and sons dba as " Makinson Drywall" until 1981 when he embarked on a 16-year Alaskan Adventure where he continued drywall and began sport fishing on the Kenai River. Steve was a kind loving man who loved deeply, lived peacefully, and touched many people's lives. A memorial service will be held at Garden Valley Church of Christ Saturday, June 2, at 1:00 pm.
