With deep sorrow and heartfelt emotion, we announce the passing of Roxie Lee Bernice Glenn. Surrounded by family in Phoenix, AZ Roxie peacefully left this world on November 19, 2024, to be reunited with her beloved husband, Jim. Roxie was born in San Diego, CA, on March 6, 1942, and lived a blessed and full life of 82 years. Roxie’s life was shaped by her dive to be a stern and loving mother, she believed in kindness to all—never meeting a stranger and always offering food to everyone in need. Roxie carried that spirit of generosity and kindness throughout her life, whether it was in the livestock business, as a real estate agent, or on the ranch in Yoncalla, OR, where with Jim they live they’re shared dream of becoming horse trainers and owners of racehorses.. As she reached the pinnacle of her life, Roxie spent time prioritizing family. Roxie found great joy in bringing people together. Whether through countless evenings of Farkle and Chicken Foot, or by organizing the annual family reunion, Roxie made sure that laughter, music, food, and love filled the air. It was a tradition that not only bonded the family but also created lasting memories, one we plan to carry on in her honor. Roxie is survived by her brother, Steven Wilmack, and her five children: Lorie Kaufmann, Kenny Glenn, Sheri Harris, Terry Glenn, and Jimmy Glenn. She leaves behind a legacy of 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her love, wisdom, and generosity.
A service to lay Roxie to rest with Jim will be held at the Roseburg National Cemetery in Roseburg, OR, on December 27th, 2024, at 11:00 AM. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at the Drain Church in Drain, OR, at 1:00 PM, with a gathering at the family ranch to honor her life.
For Roxie's cherished friends and family in Parker, AZ, a Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Roxie's name to the Parker Fire Department. This cause was near and dear to her heart, and she had passionately spearheaded an annual fundraiser for many years, always with the goal of giving back to the community she loved.
Roxie’s love, warmth, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all.
