In Loving Memory of
Richard Michael Cross
June 5, 1954 - July 6, 2026
Richard Michael Cross, known to his family and friends as Rick, was born on June 5, 1954, at Mercy Hospital in Roseburg, Oregon. He was the fourth child born to George Thomas and Janet Mary Cross.
Rick was raised in Sutherlin, Oregon, where he attended school and graduated with the Sutherlin High School Class of 1973. After graduation, he began his career working in his family's trucking business, where he developed a strong work ethic and a lifelong connection to the transportation industry. After many years of driving truck, Rick moved into the office at Triple R Transportation, where he became an interstate dispatcher, coordinating routes throughout the West Coast until his retirement.
A man of many interests, Rick had a great love for music and enjoyed listening to all genres. He took pride in his collection of 33⅓ RPM vinyl records and appreciated the memories each album brought. He also enjoyed golfing and the friendships made along the way.
Rick was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. His faith was an important part of his life, and he found comfort and fellowship within his church community.
Those who knew Rick will remember him for his kindness, loyalty, and genuine friendship. He was a person who valued the people in his life, and if Rick called you a friend, you knew you had a true friend.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas Cross and Janet Mary Cross; his brothers, Edward Thomas Cross and Robert George Cross; and his sister, Christine Loraine Cross Gilman.
He leaves behind his brother, Ronald (Tami) Cross; sisters, Catherine (Gene) Tipton, Connie (David) Knight, and Carolyn (Jay) Conn; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will continue to honor his memory and carry his love with them.
Rick's life was a blessing to all who knew him. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.
May he rest peacefully in the loving arms of our Lord.
