Nancy L. Rogers

March 17, 1937 - October 29, 2026

Nancy L. Rogers, 89, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories in the hearts of those who knew her.

Nancy was born on March 17, 1937, in Watertown, New York, to Albert Louis Williams and Dorothy R. Welch. On September 4, 1954, she married the love of her life, Charles W. Rogers, in Cortland, New York. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, love, and adventure. Their marriage spanned more than 54 years, until Charles's passing in 2008.

Throughout their marriage, Nancy and Charles made their home in several communities across New York before relocating to Lake City, Florida, and eventually settling in Roseburg, Oregon.

Nancy was a hardworking and determined woman who believed in making the most of every opportunity. In her younger years, she worked in the restaurant industry as both a waitress and a general manager. She later returned to school, earning her GED from Columbia High School in Lake City, Florida. Continuing her education, she attended Lake City Junior College's cosmetology program, graduating in 1968.

She began her cosmetology career at Rehberg's Beauty Salon in Lake City and later worked at several salons in the Roseburg area. Eventually, she opened her own business, Suburban Beauty Salon, allowing her the flexibility to pursue a career she enjoyed while spending more time with the family she loved so dearly.

Nancy embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. She enjoyed traveling, hunting, and dancing with Charles, especially when Nat King Cole or Patsy Cline were playing. She was never one to pass up a good yard sale, and she delighted in traveling the countryside in search of hidden treasures. She loved the holidays as they signified magic, family, gatherings, and love. A talented seamstress, Nancy spent countless hours sewing clothing for her grandchildren and creating handmade gifts for family members, many of which remain treasured keepsakes today.

Above all else, Nancy's greatest joy was her family. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, loved, and accepted. Her home and her heart were always open, whether to family, friends, or someone simply needing a place to belong. She was a woman who listened without judgment, offered kindness without hesitation, and never turned away someone in need.

But Nancy also had a spirited side. Beneath her gentle and loving nature was a woman with a quick wit, a playful sense of humor, and just the right amount of sass. Those who knew her best will remember not only her kindness and generosity, but also her laughter, her determination, and the unmistakable spark that made her so special.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles W. Rogers; her parents, Albert and Dorothy Williams; her brothers, Allen Williams and Earl Gattman; her son-in-law, Charles Otis; and her grandsons, Patrick Otis and James Rogers Jr.

She is survived by her five children: Charles W. Rogers Jr.; Cynthia Wambolt; John Rogers (Cheryl); James Rogers; and Amy Otis.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Elizabeth Wiggins, Sara Hrouda, Kelly Carmichael (Joe), Christopher Davis, Spencer Wambolt (Meredith), Natasha Maynard (Alan), Brianna Stammen (Michael), Jacob Dudley (Ally), McKenzie Choi (Seungbin "Robin"), Jake Rogers, and Joshua Rogers.

Her legacy continues through her many cherished great-grandchildren, including Haleigh Wambolt, Logan Hrouda, Reese Wambolt, Julianna Maynard, Ethan Maynard, Charlie Wright, Olivia Davis, and Jonah Dudley.

Nancy took tremendous pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Each held a special place in her heart, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.

While her family will miss her deeply, they will forever treasure the memories, laughter, lessons, and unconditional love she shared throughout her life. Her legacy is not simply in the years she lived, but in the countless lives she touched and the love she leaves behind.

The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice, Amedysis Hospice, and Callahan Court for their care and support during Nancy's time with them.
