Judith Elaine Hoppe, 86, returned home to her Heavenly Father on May 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born February 19, 1939 in Salt Lake City Utah to Walter and Anne Rueckert. She is the youngest of 3 children, having a twin brother, with whom was born a few minutes before her and on her older brother’s third birthday. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Cyprus High School in 1957. She continued her education by graduating with a degree from Utah State University in Logan Utah in speech therapy. On June 12, 1962 she was married in Salt Lake City to Elmer Hoppe, the young couple moved to Los Angeles, California.
While in Los Angeles they welcomed their first daughter Pam, followed by Diana and Son Brian. Judy and her family moved to Roseburg in 1974. Many lifelong friends and fond memories were made in Roseburg. Judith was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints and found joy in serving her family, church, community and everyone around her.
She is survived by her children Pamela Stanley of Glendale Arizona, Diana and Ron Rynearson of Roseburg Oregon, brother Jerald Rueckert of Fruitland Utah and 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband of 46 years, Elmer Hoppe, he son Brian Hoppe abd Stepchildren Richard Hoppe and Linda Hoppe. Her parents, Walton and Ann Rueckert and brother Mike Ruechert.
Memorial service will be held in Roseburg Oregon on Saturday May 31, 2025 at 3:00pm. Location will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2001 W Bertha Ave Roseburg, OR 97471. All are welcome.
