Joseph Oliver Mandera was born on Aug. 8, 1950, to Phillip and Dora Mandera in Canyonville, Oregon. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, JoLane Middle School, and Roseburg High School. Joe was a resident of Umpqua, owning his property on Melqua Road for 50 years. He owned Oregon Cycle Supply from 1985 until 1992. Joe also owned rental properties for many years. He was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a jack of all trades.
He loved nothing more than to spend time with his family every opportunity he had, as they were his pride and joy. Joe found his love for Harleys in the late 60s when he purchased his first panhead. He went on to own and ride many more Harleys over the years and became an avid car collector. Running heavy equipment was one of his favorite hobbies that he did up until the days before he passed.
Joe was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and fought hard until he passed on June 23, 2025. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Phillip and Dora, and his sister, Margaret Ping.
He is survived by his children, Michael Mandera, Tonya Espinoza, Jeremey Morago, Kelly Cook, Melissa Mandera, Destry Cline, Nicholas Mandera, Peter Mandera, Ryan Beal, and Bonnie Crago. Joe also leaves behind six brothers, James, Thomas, Raymond, Kenneth, William, and David Mandera, his two sisters, Roberta Ogg and Jean Brooks, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe was blessed with 28 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren whom he adored.
