John Albert Coccia

John Albert Coccia, aged 72, died at his home in Sutherlin, Oregon in the early morning hours of Friday, August 22, 2025.

John was born on May 07, 1953 in Ontario, California to Luella and Chester Coccia. He spent all of his early years there surrounded by extensive family. After high school John went on to the University of California on a baseball scholarship and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in March of 1976. During this time he married his first wife, Cindy, and had his first child, Cori Coccia, whom he loved dearly.

After college he managed Nielson’s Tire Dealership in Ventura, CA for a number of years. During this time he divorced and went on to have two sons, Ryan and Paul, both of them also loved by him immensely. He then moved on to work for Tom Stabin Construction before moving to Oregon in 2002 to help his Mom. John and his brother, Ernie Coccia, started Coccia Bros. Construction in 2004.

John retired from Coccia Bros. Construction in the winter of 2021 and enjoyed working on projects around the home he shared with his wife, Tracy. Over the years they went camping and kayaking around Oregon and northern California, often joined by his daughter, Cori. He was a life-long fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and could be heard cheering them on boisterously on game days.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, his brother Ernie and his son Paul.

He is survived by his wife Tracy, daughter Cori, son Ryan, step-daughter Jordan, step-son Nolan, sister Debbie, brother Chester, step-sisters Donna and Margie and numerous nephews, cousins and friends.

John was deeply loved and will be missed by many. Per his wishes there will not be a service nor a visitation. His ashes will taken out on the ocean and attended to by immediate family at a later time.
