Irene Carissima Fetsch

December 3, 1926 — March 11, 2026

Irene Carisima Fetsch, a woman whose strength, faith, and love shaped five generations of family.

Irene was born in a small coal mining village of Gilfach Goch ,Wales in 1927 and grew up during a time of great hardship. She lived through the loss of her home during the Bristol Blitz, an experience that forged her resilience and her deep appreciation for life's simple blessings. In the midst of war, she met an American soldier, Floyd Willard, and their love carried her across the ocean to begin a new life in the United States.

She embraced every chapter with courage - from life on a Nebraska farm to raising her five children in Washington, to building a new home in Oregon. After losing both her husbands, Irene continued forward with remarkable independence. She traveled the world, tended beautiful gardens, and stayed active in her church and community. Wherever she lived, people cherished her warmth, her kindness, and her lively spirit.

Irene leaves behind a family that spans five generations - a legacy of love that began with one brave young woman who crossed an ocean and built a life rooted in faith and devotion.

She will be remembered for her strength, her stories, and the way she made every place feel like home. Though she will be missed deeply, her love lives on in all of us.
