Gladys Warren (94) of Roseburg Oregon passed away on Sunday, January
18
th 2026. Gladys was born on July 19th, 1931 in Forsyth, Missouri to parents Joe
and Ole Jenkins. She was the last of 7 children. When Gladys was a little girl, her
family moved to Wilder Idaho to farm. Gladys graduated from Wilder High
School in 1949 and was the Valedictorian. In her early professional years, she
worked at the Bank of Idaho, where she worked all positions such as bank teller,
loan officer, ect..
In July 1950, just before her 20th birthday, she married William Aten and had
3 beautiful children, Debby, Carol, and Joe.
In 1968, she married Bob Warren, and had one child, Rebecca (Becky) in
San Jose, California. Gladys loved numbers and was an accountant manager most
of her life until her retirement in 1989. Bob and Gladys retired to Roseburg,
Oregon where they have enjoyed many traveling trips in their RV. Bob and Gladys
enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling. They had 41 wonderful years together
until his passing 17 years earlier in 2009. Gladys was able to enjoy a few trips with
her sister Lorene after Bob died. They went to Costa Rica together and did zip
lining - Gladys at 83 and Lorene at 85. Their last trip together was an East Coast
trip from South Carolina to Niagara Falls which Gladys thoroughly enjoyed seeing
all the fall colors. Lorene passed away later that year at 86.
Gladys lived a wonderfully long life where she was able to attend many
graduations, grandkids and great grandkids birthday parties, grandchildren state
championships, family reunions, and grandchildren weddings ect.. One highlight
that she really enjoyed was celebrating her 90th birthday party with her church
family, all her children, some grandchildren, and even great grandchildren that
were present.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Debra Norton Greenway and husband
Alan of Nampa, Idaho; Carol Louie and her husband Gary of San Jose, California;
Joe Aten and his wife Maria of Wilder, Idaho; and Rebecca Mesa and husband
Chris Mesa of Roseburg, OR. Gladys is survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great
grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Gladys and Bob were baptized together in the Umpqua River in 1996 and
were members of the Seventh Day Adventist church until their deaths. We want to
thank our church family for all their love and support over the years. A celebration
of life will be held on Sunday, May 3rd
, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Roseburg Seventh
Day Adventist Church at 1109 NW Garden Valley Blvd
