Fred Jackson, of Sutherlin, passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on October 17th, 1944, in Upland California, son of the late Wardie and Ruby Jackson.
He served his country proudly for 40 years with the USAF and the California A.N.G. He was on the pistol shooting team with the 163rd A.N.G. and recognized for his achievements as master shooter. He found joy shooting commercial fireworks shows, drag racing his 57’ Chevy, organizing the “Over the Hill Gang” charity car show, and the comradery with his many friends at Kelly’s Cozy Corner happy hour.
Beloved by family and friends, he will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the lasting love he shared.
Fred is survived by his wife of 46 years Debra and their beloved dog Sami; daughters Jennifer (Sid), Jeri (Floyd) and Kate; granddaughters Sarah and Hannah; brother and sisters-in-law Chester, Terry, Raena, Tracy, Donna, Margie; sisters Virginia and Betty. He was preceded in death by his father Wardie Jackson and Mother Ruby Jackson.
A grave side service will be held on October 2, 2026, at 10 am at Roseburg National Cemetery.
