Betty Shelton

Betty L. Shelton, 80 years young, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on July 8, 2025. She was born on Feb. 10, 1945, in Montebello, California, and lived a life marked by unwavering love, dedication, and faith in God, her family, and friends.

Betty's kindness and compassion were boundless and infectious, touching everyone she met. She was deeply active in her faith, singing God's praises, playing guitar, studying and teaching the gospel, and sharing God's love with all. Her devotion made her an inspiration, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her. Betty's favorite verse, John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

Betty is survived by her sister Carol Roberts (Richard Roberts Sr.), daughter Brenna Adams (Rod Adams Sr.), son Brent Newman (Christine Newman), grandchildren Rodney Adams Jr., Daniel Newman, Richard Newman, and Roseanna Newman, and great-grandchildren Brayden Studebaker, Noah Adams, and Lucas Adams.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, for immediate family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Church in Winston. Betty's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, always a bushel and a peck.
