ARAMINTA LOU BODEEN went peacefully home to be with her Savior on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the age of 95 while residing at The Peterson Place Foster Home in Winchester, Oregon.
She was born on December 30, 1928, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to John and Nellie Sales. After moving to Oklahoma for a time, they returned to Colorado settling in Greeley where they faithfully attended the Evangelical Free Church. While there, Araminta met, dated and fell in love with her one and only love, Don Bodeen. They were married on June 3, 1950 in Greeley, Colorado. Don taught English for a couple of years in Colorado and then was offered a job in Roseburg, Oregon. He moved his young family to Roseburg in the summer of 1953.
Araminta enjoyed being a wife and mother to her three children. She was active in the North Roseburg Evangelical Free Church teaching Sunday School, DVBS, singing in the choir, organizing fellowship gatherings. She spent nine years as an Avon representative. Manh of her customers became her friends. She also served as Church Secretary of the N. Roseburg Church for 15 years. In latter years, she served as Deaconess at First Conservative Baptist Church which is now Wellspring. She also enjoyed memorizing scripture, like Psalm 103, with her husband Don.
Araminta is preceded in death by her parents, John and Nellie Sales; two sisters Anna McRae and Sylvia Brown and her husband Don Bodeen. She is survived by her children Cheryl Hambrick (Don) of Roseburg; Len Bodeen (Sharon) of Sutherlin; Janel Hahn (Brad) of Sutherlin; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter born one week before her death.
There will be a Memorial Service for Araminta at Wellspring Bible Fellowship on Tuesday, July 9, at 3:00 PM to honor her life and service to the Lord. Pastor Craig Kinney will officiate.
