Ronald Ralph Preston

March 3, 1947 - August 6, 2011

Ron Preston, 64 Surrounded by family and friends, Ron died peacefully August 6th, 2011 after several months of illness. Surviving family members include wife Sharon, daughter and son-in -law Heidi and Brent Eichman, granddaughters Samantha and Mackenzie Eichman, of Roseburg. His Sister and Brother-in-law Sandy and Bob Barry, Medford. Graduating with a Bachelors Degree from University of Oregon Ron was a brilliant business man, and he loved his ducks! Ron impacted the medical community in Douglas County with his political savvy and working as the CEO of DCIPA, and on the board of directors for Mercy Medical Center for many years. If he was not on his Harley, Ron could be found reading in the sunshine, boating, fishing, and visiting his grandchildren, family and friends. Ron touched the lives of countless people with his generosity, encouragement and ability to befriend anyone. He lived life to the fullest and maintained his sense of humor to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service and reception on Wednesday, August 17th, arrival at 12:30pm, service starts at 1:00pm at Redeemers Fellowship, 3031 Harvard Avenue, Roseburg. In lieu of flowers his family asks that donations be made to a memorial fund through Umpqua Bank. Donations will be split between the youth center at Redeemers Church and the Umpqua Valley Tennis Center.
